No podemos abordar un riesgo que no entendemos. Así que tenemos que mirar los hechos frente a los conceptos erróneos, los conceptos erróneos que enmarcan las percepciones de las personas sobre el abuso sexual infantil.

Bienvenido a Military Children's Six Foundation - Protecting Children and Quienes les sirven.

Meet Adaijah Jacobs

My name is Adaijah Jacobs, youth advocate here at Military Children’s Six Foundation. Having the opportunity to work with MC6 is very rewarding. Seeing people that look like me in the positions I aspire to be in one day really encourages me. As a young mother (22), aspiring law student, and a recent first-generation college graduate from the Northeast area of Washington D.C., I did not expect to be introduced to such a significant opportunity.

With my humble beginnings, I hope to be able to reach many children and be a great advocate for them. I hope to influence all children and remind them that no matter where you are from or the decisions you have made in the past, you can still sit at whatever table you would like. I want to remind children your trauma and history do not project your path. However, it can build and strengthen you to be the best you can be.

While growing up in the Ward 7 area, I watched many of my friends and relatives battle with the Criminal Justice system. This is one of the many reasons I would like to join the less than 2% of Black women who are lawyers to defend the rights of people that look like me. My main motivation is knowing that my son will have a chance to grow up in a time where a confrontation with the system becomes less likely but is transparent and fair it does. What gives me drive is knowing that my son will know he is well protected because his mom works hard to advocate for people like him. This is why I will one-day address oppressive practices in the law

and advocate for those who cannot advocate for themselves. With the support, I have here at MC6 I know these goals are possible. I am so appreciative to have been granted this opportunity, here at MC6 they believe in me. They are willing to open doors for me that I did not think I could one day walk through no matter how hard I tried.

Thank you Military Children’s Six Foundation for assisting me with my future so I can one day

help others with theirs!
